Description: In administering the DFATD International Scholarships Program CBIE provides a broad array of services including the disbursement of up to CAD $12M in program flow-through funds by offering approximately 1,000 scholarships or fellowships worldwide under a range of programs. This encompasses full service administration of the Program, the planning and delivery of events and activities related to scholarship programming, as well as the maintenance of the www.scholarships-bourses.gc.ca website, by developing and updating content, collecting and tracking data and creating reports.


Project Title: Export Development Canada (EDC) International Business Scholarships Program

Description: The main objective of the EDC International Business Scholarships Program is to annually award up to 30 scholarships to undergraduate students across Canada in 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year.  These are returning students who are in their first undergraduate program – while 25 scholarships are awarded to students pursuing international business related studies, including up to five scholarships, which are awarded to students combining international business studies with sustainable management or environmental studies.  The EDC scholarships are intended to support young Canadians interested in pursuing careers or furthering their studies in international business.


Project Title: Canadian Education and Training Awards – Africa (CETAA)

Description: CETAA was designed to strengthen civil society organizations, on an organizational and individual level, in three western African countries, Mali, Ghana, Senegal and one eastern African country, Ethiopia.  The aim was for these organizations to be able to influence the policies and practices of regional and national government’s commitments in furthering progress towards poverty reduction and the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. The program targeted CIDA priority sub-sectors in each country, with gender and youth as cross-cutting themes.
